The coast of the island of Vir is 31.43 km long and offers various beaches – from sandy, pebble to rocky with cliffs. The beaches on the island of Vir, which are partly situated along the pine forests with crystal clear sea, make this island ideal for family holidays with children.
The particularly forested island of Školjič with long sandy beach, near the bridge that connects the island with the mainland. In addition to swimming, surfing, kayaking, diving, water skiing (Jet-Ski), boating and motor boating (Speedboat), beach volleyball and other water sports, the island of Školjič also provides gastronomic experiences.
There is a healing mud that is used to treat rheumatic diseases on some beaches on the island of Vir. Especially in the Gulf of Sapavac, near the Venetian fortress – Kaštelina.
The island of Vir is an ideal place even outside the tourist season thanks to the Mediterranean climate, where the sun shines for almost 300 days and with an average temperature of 25 °C during the summer months.

Jadro Beach
The centre of events, programs, festivals and beach parties is pebble beach with a sandy seabed on the south side of the island in the centre of Vir offers a group of animators “Risus” a rich program and in the evenings promenade.
There is a beach bar and fast food on the coast. Near the restaurant is a summer theatre, which presents the program “Virsko ljeto”. The coast is equipped with many beach bars, pastry shops, cafes and parasols.
Biskupljača beach
The beach with a picturesque harbour for boats has a pebble beach with a sandy seabed. It is located on the north side of the island and in the evenings offers a promenade and a place to have a drink.
